--- Quote from: The G Man on June 01, 2009, 01:01:48 AM ---There's also something called "phantom" or "ghost" limbs. This is the sensation of still having the limb and moving it, but it not really being or happening at all. --- End quote --- reminds me a damn hell alot of Misery by Stephen King, where Paul in one part still tries to move his missing limbs. Damn good read. On Topic: I think you got your info from all of these pages... |

Aren't those electrical impulses still going through your severed limb while going through shock? |
| sir dooble:
I would really like to hope that if ever i lost a limb, I wouldn't feel anything due to shock. But it probably wouldn't work exactly like that, in which case, i would imagine the pain being so extreme, that i would rather die than continue going through it. However once its all over and done with, and i survived (If i did) I ould be jolly with my little stub leg, and wave it around and make people laugh, and little children scream.... --- Quote from: Packer on June 01, 2009, 06:42:42 AM ---I lost my toe in a pool and didn't really feel anything, but that was a clean cut. --- End quote --- I know of a guy who was in my school, He (For whatever reason persuaded him to do so) was jumping over a motorized lawnmower that was on. He unfortuantely didn't jump over it properly and lost numerous toes to a spinning blade. |

If you got your leg blown off, would you still feel in the leg for a while? Like how when spiders' legs get pulled off they continue to move for a bit and chickens run with their head cut off. would the nerves in your legs work for a short time? |
