Except my respect went down for them because their burger shots have to be torn apart to eat them one at a time.

Ah, what an impressionable mind you have.
If you walk into a fast food restaurant expecting a tastefully prepared, well-balanced meal composed of the finest ingredients then yes, you will be sorely disappointed. I'll give the greater portion of humanity the benefit of the doubt and say that most people acknowledge that eating out isn't a healthy choice. It remains, however, a fast, convenient, and sociable form of eating.
As with any substance you consume, moderation is much more practical than absolute abolition.
