Ignoring flame war. (or perhaps edging one on :D )

Wait, so you're saying it's good to be a hypocrite? And your logic is, if you've done it, it's ok to tell someone one thing then go out and do another? That's bullstuff. That's like saying it's ok for a murderer to preach nonviolence, or a doctor who smokes. I mean, once you're a hypocrite, your opinion on things becomes very dwindled. So if someone has done something but tell you to do another, and they themselves make no attempt to correcting their own wrongs, then you shouldn't listen to them. They know nothing of what they're talking about.

Netwars4:

Well personally I think it's all dependent really.

Like sure a murderer preaching non-violence is a tad extreme; but thats what the ideal justice system would create.

however i think hes talking more along the lines of a smoker telling kids not to smoke because the smoker knows how much it sucks to be addicted and have to deal with the consequences every day.
or even a paralyzed person telling you to buckle up, giving the example that when he didn't, he got in a car crash and became paralyzed from the neck down.

there can really be no true definite line between hypocrisy and advice based on experience.

Swholli:

Well you're right, which leads us further to the point that what he's describing isn't hypocrisy at all.

So then, we have no argument. :D
