Author Topic: annoying error message for my games  (Read 2201 times)

they worked before then one day i just started getting the error message. plus, i am afraid to purchase any other games because the won't work.

whenever i start one of my 50$ games, install, then when i play it for a while my gam e won't start and i get an error message that says 'Could not write lisense data!'. what does this mean and how do i fix it? it is just my games that involve a disk. it only does this for Grand Theft Auto IV and The Sims 2. i have windows vista and a good video card and processor. HELP! i just want to play my games again.

Okay, you clearly haven't tried something that might work. You say you paid $50 for these games, try buying one for $49.99 and see if that fixes it.

Either that, or quit playing Sims 2. GTAIV is the only one you should care about.

Well maybe you should have read it all before making a smartass comment.

Ontopic: Some games can't be run on Windows Vista, look on the box, it should say what systems it can run on.
Sims 2 probably runs on Vista and GTAIV should run fine.

Again, if all the ones that require a CD/DVD don't work even when you do have them in the drive, it probably means your CD/DVD drive isn't working right.

dont buy suspicious pronz from suspicious people

Sounds like the part of the disk that tells if it is payed for or not is scratched.

Do you people read?

None of his games that use CD's work. They can't all be magically scratched in the right way to affect one piece of data.
