Actually, once you reach the edge you wouldn't change both the x and y coordinates. Assuming the map "graph" works the same as a normal x y z graph.

Once you reach the edge of the "x" side, you'd make it -x. Same with the edge of the "y" side.

No, X and Y are on the horizontal. Z is vertical.
