Like I said, compound is the best bow you're going to get. Longbow and recurve are more for their classical and aesthetic quality, not to say they're ineffective. I have a Longbow, 2 compound, and I've used a few recurve bows.

Again, Compound is best suited for beginners. String tension can be adjusted quite simply on them, so if you can't pull 85 Pounds, it can be toned down however you need it.
