Obama YEAR ROUND SCHOOL YEAR DX
<< < (9/38) > >>
Healbadbad:
i go to a very advanced school, im going into 9th grade and am going to take pre-calc, and the lessons are designed to end the day before the last day of school. if i had school year round with that, im pretty sure my head would explode and bones would impale others, as well as people's designing the course. i dont like the idea but from what messes said, he is kind of right that it would be better to have breaks every few weeks. However i dont lose much during the summer, and im learning a lot more torquescript and C++, so its a mixed message.

Couldn't bother to read more than the first posts, but there's a year-round school district one city over from me, my mom worked there like 7 years ago, it's not that bad. There's tons of breaks that are longer than our lame 3 day weekend breaks, but they just don't have nearly as long of a summer. It's not like on monday you're in 10th grade and then on teusday the new school year starts and you're in 11th grade, you get breaks. (I didn't mean 1 day school years lol)
Thorax:
I'd be homeschooled if there was year round school.

Sorry, I didn't actually read the topic at all.

I, being one who can sit and listen to a guy yapping all day can deal but I know quite a few people who learn better by doing hands on work or by singing a song. It is how we are learning, not what we are learning with.

Yeah, before they had what was basically an entire branch of classes to help develop manual skills and techniques. They should really consider bringing those back.

Although the common problem is work in many of those is quickly disappearing from industries, what with the increase in automation. It would still be extremely beneficial to those kids though.
