Yay I found the song!

The only song that goes around my mind is 'Hotel California' but there isn't anything about "under the california sun".

It also sounds kinda like a cross between RHCP and Sublime with some rap mixed in.

Nah. Its mostly alternative sounding but with one guy rapping in part of the song.
