/po/ isn't that bad. Just any of the forums designed for adults that have no means of moderating or keeping the kids who now occupy them out. I'm surprised the whole site hasn't been shut down due to massive exposure to minors.

Anyways allot of the old timers left the community for most of the reasons Swholli described, others showed their colors and then left (they were ugly colors). The current situation is quite fragile.

The lack of major competitive clans isn't helping either, back when USSR and MotE were around they were like role models to most members. The lack of that means there isn't really a bar anyone is trying to reach, and it makes for allot of forum members who think they're superstars and whatnot. Some get away with it too simply because there isn't anything else easily visible beyond them.

Popularity isn't something allot of the old members care about, but it still remains quite important. A popular group could set some good examples for the newer members and keep hooliganism in check (often indirectly). It wouldn't be the Fix-All solution, but it would help a bit.

For some god forsaken reason, we've developed a complex as a community. No, more of like a cancer.

Some handicapped people came and spewed their handicappedness, then newcomers saw that the handicapped members could do it, so they did it too. Eventually the whole forum has become a wasteland of handicapation, leaving a few of us white blood cells to fight it off. And we're not winning.

We're slowly going down a tube of internet obscurity, where it's like a 4chan meets YouTube comments. I feel bad too, because this place used to be fun to hang around on.
