More like a bandwagon, seeing as in every thread about /b/ or 4chan some random friend posted the same exact thing you did.

without all that 4chan stuff... i thought the symbol /b/ originally represented a phonetic sound of the letter B (like 'buh) in linguistic terms. im not sure though?
