Once every now and then mankind comes upon something that changes the way we think about the world: gravity, the wheel, the compass are all things that are in themselves not that impressive but their discovery/invention modified the landscape of human civilization as we know it. Then there are those things that man always knew of but never fully utilized until someone, at some point, experimented with it and found a way to make it useful. Fire, electricity & wind are all examples of things that have always been around but didn't shape the way we see the world until someone tied a key to a kite and when lightning fishing.

These things are all recognizable and their histories are well chronicled. It is only right that they should be, after all, without them where would we be? Well now, at long last we find that another of those great/important/civilization shaping things has at long, gotten the attention it deserves.

Ladies and gentlemen I give you the Wikipedia article about hitting people in the nuts:

I think I speak for all mankind when I say: it's about time.

burning mullets for energy is a gtreat idea that hasn't been fully recognized yet: they're a burden to society, and grows back quickly.

RENEWABLE ENERGY HERE WE COME

Bones4:

My history professor just loves the history behind when gravity was invented.

Antallion:

"Women are taught that the groin attack is one of the key maneuvers in discouraging a would-be rapist; the technique consists of waiting until said rapist is directly in front of the would-be victim, facing them, then swiftly raising the knee, introducing it painfully to the rapist's gonads."

I didn't think gonads was a wikipedi-worthful word

Azimuth:

Then modify it you forget.
