And I did not own a laptop, we got nothing but the clothes we had on out of it. also if it was a lie explain this: http://translate.google.com/translate?prev=hp&hl=da&js=n&u=http%3A%2F%2Flokalavisen.dk%2Farticle%2F20090702%2FARTIKLER%2F734106204%2F1009&sl=da&tl=en&history_state0=&swap=1

René, Nicki og tililende naboer får børnene ud, og derefter forsøger de at komme til førstesalen, hvor de fire børn frygtede at en 18-årig storebror måske sov.
Could you translate that? :D

Also yeah, if a small fire started in living room and we couldn't get it out, I would literally run to my computer and unplug all the cables, and grab at least the computer, maybe even the monitor :D.

That wasn't the cause. Shoddy wiring is a problem with a lot of homes and aside from human error, the most common way a house burns down.

Patrick, I hope you find another place to stay shortly. All I can say is that you may loose stuff, but that's all it is. Stuff. If your parents had insurance, you'll most likely get a lot of it back. The thing you should be most concerned with is your family. Hope everyone is okay.

JSK: I'd say forget my computer. Insurance will buy me a new and better one.

Does insurance replace everything or give you enough money? Don't they have a limit?

It depends on how willing the company is to stick with the lettering of the plan or if they decide to loophole it to death to try and not pay anything at all. If you had fire insurance on the house, you'll probably get a new house, but they may try to spin it off as an electrical problem and that fire was only a cause of that, so since you don't have electrical insurance, you get nothing. Its the same bullstuff that people in New Orleans went through after Katrina. They all have hurricane insurance, but the insurance companies didn't pay out because flooding is what caused the loss of most houses.

It's all up to the company really. I would always go for a local insurance company instead of a nationwide corporation. They have better chances of paying out.

Sad that companies would do that :(.

I'll go ask my mom or dad soon about what we have.

What's weird is that last night our power went out, three times. First time generator took a while to kick in, and then the first generator died and the second one turned on, then they both finished their little generation and no power until 5 AM.

I once had no power for three days.

neighbours gets kid out but am not sure about an 18 year old big brother sleeping upstairs

I'd get the moniter, xbox, psp, ds, another shirt, and whatever money is lying around.  Oh, and my gerbil.  I'd hold him in a small box with holes

I'd grab the microKORG and the cat. I'd miss all of the art we pick up from flea-markets and the starving artist sales, though. :(
The chance that a fire would get far in this house is low, though. We have something like three fire extinguishers on each floor. Sucks that your house burned down. D:

I've heard those are pretty hard to use when you're sleeping.
