Aren't there any LEGO sets you can buy that are basically Blockland bricks?

What I mean is, everything I've ever seen is either really specific sets or a so-called supplement of extremely basic bricks in 4 colors. Isn't it possible to get JUST bricks but more than the super-generic blocks?

Otis Da HousKat:

Pretty sure Lego sells bulk sets of all their bricks. Except for really stupid pre-molded crappy special bricks that take the fun out of building.

Bisjac:

most of the buckets have lots of generic bricks.
cept some now come with a few minifigs and wheels.

Truce:

Well, if you live near a Lego store they usually have a bigass wall of a bunch of compartments with various pieces in them. Just grab some pieces of whatever color and size you want, throw them into a bag, and then buy it. I think the price was based on weight, not quantity.
