If you compare it to the revolution of the galaxy, or even the universe itself, you can find that it could be either a lot faster or a lot slower than how you currently view it. Time is relative, distance is constantly changing because space time is changing. We are just unable to see it on a mass scale at the moment. Don't need to be all pissy about it. lol --- End quote --- Um, so the years described in the Bible are supposed to be referring to the rotation of an arbitrary object in the universe without mentioning this? How can you make this assumption? |

the bible was written by guys that thought the world was flat and there was a new sun every day. hard to time that not to mention the calendar has changed 5 times since Charlemagne and, the jews of the bible days used an entirely different one. but the final creed of how old the world is (according to Christians) isn't even based on anything in the bible. religions have always made stuff up whenever they felt the need. usually as a political tool. |

How can you make this assumption? --- End quote --- You never know. The Bible itself isn't a book of facts. It's a collection of parables intended to help guide a person towards a more moral standing that improves quality of life not just for oneself, but for the community around them. If you accept everything as whole full-bodied truth, then you've never understood religion to begin with. I make this assumption because I believe that science is the answer in understanding god and how he works, not a means to deny his existence. After all, science and math was created to find a means to get closer to god. You may think him as a non present entity now, but you can not deny that without him, we'd hardly be as advanced today as we probably could be. |
