How goes the "retail" version?

Well I have been gone a long while, but I am wondering. How is the progress on the new version coming? It's been a few years, no? Anything new I should know?

The last thing I remeber is that Eric had gotten the game to only render blocks you could see, so the lag was reduced. Is their a progected release date on the retail version yet? If beta testers are needed I am happy to sign up.

Since that post I have made progress on the first red bullet.  I've got authentication and name registration working using text files, now I'm going to convert it to work off of a database.
