I've had that kind of thing happen to me before, but it turns out it I bruised my lungs/diaphragm.
Everytime I breathed in, it felt like someone was stabbing me in the center of my torso. I couldn't eat anything too fast, or too hard.
And I couldn't even lie down, otherwise it would just be absolute agony. It went away in a few days though.
