Dont eat any meat then. There's eggs, but my guess is that hens live the same life, being bred to lay eggs.

Around 80% (or something around here) meat in Switzerland are made of animals that had a peaceful life. Normal animals who didn't need to eat druged food and such stuff. Free animals who died normally.

Switzerland has a lesser population than the US. They could probably afford to treat animals well and still be efficient.
No matter what, though, they are slaughtered. You never eat an animal that has died on its own.
