you could make it the same way of selection for the fill can what bricks are the same color then all you have to do is paint them one color then paint them back as simple as that

Sounds like a good idea but it would have to have some limits...
it could be very selful for naming large amounts af bricks

This has been done, by NiXiLL, I believe. It was an addition to the toolwand. I do not know how he did this, though - I do not have the add-on with the fillwrench on my old computer :/
