Blockland getting back to it's roots
Marcem:
How is that really relating here? I love using add-ons, they're like my DLC, which I think badspot should focus development on.

Well now that you mention it, my main problem is that the add-ons take away from the simplicity of the game.
AGlass0fMilk:
Don't download add-ons? Host your own god damn server if you don't want add-ons and you just want to build/shoot people. I make add-ons because I want to. There are some servers out there that don't have add-ons. Mod's are one of the things that makes Blockland great, that's why Badspot made an add-ons system. I don't believe he should make it simpler, you can always just play without add-ons.

Even though we don't have to download the models, we still have to download vehicles, maps and player types. Not to mention all the hullabaloo over which event add-ons are "Absolutely Necessary" for your server.

Vehicles need to have their shape, and mount points in order to get the client-sided physics working properly. If you didn't download vehicles, then when you drive it, it would appear very glitchy while driving.
Maps. Well forget how the hell would you even play on the server? Picture Bedroom, with no interior, and no terrain, but instead you're repeatedly glitching into some random point in the air with jerky forces resembling walls and floors in the shape of a bedroom. Would you really enjoy that?
Playertypes can be thought of the same as vehicles. The shapes do have their own sizes and mount points.

The problem is not with Blockland, it's with RTB. If all add-ons were uploaded to only the blockland forums, nubs wouldn't have as much access to them.
