When I attempt to upload my avatar, it comes out as a black box.

I tried to make this my avatar, but when I select it, my avatar shows as a black box. Is there a way to fix this?

Odd, resizing it worked. In the past, when I tried to upload images larger than 75x75 it just resized them. Locking.
