Or something multi-purpose. How in the hell with a tire iron actually help you in a zombie apocalypse? A crowbar could be used to pry away stuff and remove nails. A knife could be used to open cans, cut yourself and maybe even dig holes?

Using a melee weapons is stupid, you'd obviously have to use alot of force to kill something that's already dead with an axe, or other melee weapon, and if their are multiple zombies around you, you'll get winded before you can kill them all.

Still, if you're running from zombies and they get too close, wouldn't you want something just to slow them down?
Sinking a machete into a zombie's neck would at least make it slow down a bit, imo.

But first you need to use the force to shove it in the zombie's neck, then pull it back out with just as much force, then sheath it.

I'm pretty sure it was you who said that one would need a high-power gun to do anything whatsoever to a zombie.  If not, that's still a good point to make, because most high-powered guns are 2-handed. 
So you're telling me you would turn around, losing your speed, square up, and shoot the zombie?  Because a glock wouldn't do stuff.  And what if you're out of ammo?
For that reason, a melee is entirely necessary as a back-up.

i'd put resources in the front seat and paint it black. then i'd used my dad reinforced windows and replace the current ones with the reinforced ones.
and go steal a portable gaming system from gamestop. and bring a couple tanks of gas and 2 backup wheels.
