I bought a 32bit version of vista. (which im using now.) But, i was wondering if it was possible to obtain a 64bit copy instead. Because, i have a 64bit processor. Anyways, i saw their "order a 64bit copy" thing on the box, but it turns out they charge 10.00 just to ship it to you. I was wondering if they offered a way to upgrade? |
| General Nick:
You can't upgrade 32-bit to 64-bit. It's impossible due to 64-bit Vista having two separate Program Files folders and just the way it works. You can't upgrade 32-bit XP to 64-bit Vista, believe me I tried. Also are you sure you have a 64-bit processor and at least 2 GB RAM? |

I'm pretty sure you have to buy another copy. --- Quote from: Gen. Nick on August 02, 2009, 06:36:12 AM ---You can't upgrade 32-bit to 64-bit. | General Nick:
Probably for Windows 7, but most likely not. |

I mean this. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsvista/1033/ordermedia/default.mspx They allow you to obtain a 64bit version for free aslong as you purchased Home premium or higher. But, i don't want to order the CD. I want to find a way where i can just do it and not lose any stuff. |
