Or is it a tiny harmless one that'd be quite pointless?

It's a little bigger in diameter probably than your player... In the game, you just can't use it inside. I really have no clue how a roof stops a giant, magma/like laser beam.

it doesnt stop it u know how you aim with that thing the beam comes from a satellite and a satelite has to be able to fire from open sky there is a glitch to shoot inside
