I just set mine up because I'm terribly bored, and trying to find things to do.

I tried that, too. It still didn't make any sort of sound. I'm not playing any sound at the moment, though, so hard to tell.
If it helps, I have an IDT HD Audio chip (Dolby Home Theater)
