DrMobius:
Ring on A, Middle on S or W, Index on D, Thumb on Space, right hand is usually on the mouse or at other random keys.

My first FPS was nerf blast arena and the default control scheme was arrow keys for movement, right click for jump, left for fire, rshift for crouch, etc. Or at least thats what I remembered it as, it could have been quite possible that it was WASD and I changed it to the default arrow key setup because I was used to playing arcade games with the arrow keys (I had the Microsoft Entertainment Pack and Microsoft Arcade on my computer). For years I would rebind all of the keys in games to arrow keys. Eventually I got tired of doing this every time I updated, of all games, Blockland (specifically AiO and RTB mods), and around 2006 I switched to WASD with my middle finger on the W.

For some reason V isn't the default voice key in a few valve games so I had to rebind it in them. In garrysmod I used to rebind suitzoom to t as well and move global chat to y and team to u, since I used suitzoom a lot more than team chat (and quite possibly more than global as well). Now I don't because I got tired of rebinding it.
Crunchie:
I always bind voice to mouse3, probably because if it was V I wouldnt be able to strafe right or jump while talking.  :cookieMonster:

I always played flash games and Return of Arcade (Sequel to Microsoft Arcade) with arrow keys, then when I saw the controls for BL, I was kinda like "Wtf, was the guy who made this handicapped?" I didn't know that I could change them, then later I realize that it's actually better.  Also, I once used my arrow keys to look.  Much like when I got Garry's Mod, I kept with that default mouse sensitivity, then I got my g5 mouse.  I changed the sensitivity from 10 to 3(The Valve default), so I could just go to high sensitivity on the mouse.  I ended up just using medium, because my mouse settings usually forgeted up when I changed it in-game.
