There are 4D theaters, they are just normal 3D theaters but the forth dimension is added by feeling, like mist, (It being the only safe 4D effect I can currently thing of) or movement in your seat.

They also use giant air-blowers and water sprays.
The 'Honey I just shrank the Audience' ride at DisneyLand is an example of those sort of Theatres.
