The plot isn't complicated, it's not even deep. I'm speaking from simply the synopsis, but I digress. I understand the plot very well. Girl is fish, fish-girl goes to surface, meets guy. Fish-girl wants to become human, and is given a chance. stuff happens, guy chooses any form of fish-girl and fish-girl becomes girl, lives happily ever after until they make a sequel. It's not exactly the greatest or most original story ever told. Upon reexamining this thread, it seems that it's largely revered simply because it was done by a Japanese author/filmmaker. |
