| Making a game engine? |

Is it hard? (I assume so) and what would you do to make one. I assume C++. I always wanted to make one somewhat like a lego one where you can build vehicles and drive them and blow them up and watch bricks and such scatter everywhere. Anyone know anything about making one? I never said I was going to try any time soon. Also, does it cost money to make one? |

Just use Torque. |

It doesn't really cost money. Just lots of time, and I doubt you could do it. |

It costs as much money as you spend on it. It depends on what you buy for coding the game engine. Making a game engine is a hard task, and they are often made with multiple experienced coders. I would suggest if you were to ever think of making one, you gain a lot of experience with coding and familiarize yourself with how everything your game engine uses works. It really depends, but if anything, it is much easier to buy a game engine. |
