On Topic: Just use blender, if you REALY dont want to use it, then I cant help you, for I dont know much about modeling...

blender takes to much space? i thought it was a pretty simple, small app.
if that little bit of HD space is that big a deal, you shouldn't be doing lots of things on your comp.

anyways, modeling isn't making addons. its just making models. its a very separate thing to have scripts/s to put with your model to put it in a game somewhere.

but if you must make a gun or vehicle or something, blender would be the easiest route i say
