If your gonna get a social networking site, get Facebook or Myspace, not twitter. There's some really funny skits on "The Tonight Show" that make fun of it. Even though it sucks, my friends actually convinced me to get one.

Don't get a social networking site, if you want to communicate with people do it face to face, unless of course it's like this where you don't know the person in real life and the only way to communicate with them is over the internet. And if you're unable to meet them at the time use a phone or something where you're using your voice to express yourself, I've had enough with this texting bullstuff.

From my expierence, Facebook and Myspace are just great places to let everyone know big things about yourself/whats going on. Rather than let rumors fly around that could develop into something horrible, you can let all of your friends know what is going on in your live without having to call each and every one of them. And if they care enough, they will call you.
For example, when I was secure in my loveuality and I when I wanted to let everyone know, I just made a post that let them know. And it worked, now most of my friends know that I'm gay and I'm happy knowing the fact that my friends still accept me for who I am.
Also, Facebook is a great way to reconnect with long lost friends. I found one of my best friends that I lost connection with a long time ago on Facebook.
