Gamespy wont start

Whenever I start Gamespy Arcade, it says "Downloading Service Map. Please wait..." but if wont respond
I downloaded it with AvP 2. It works on my other computer, however, which is strange.... Does it only work on XP?

I didn't know anyone actually used gamespy. That site and its software has always been absolutely worthless, like punkbuster.

Right click on the icon, select properties, compatibility tab.
