Well, I mean: "I think Obama is a bad president." And then say why you think so. If the person feels you've given a good enough retort, then they may be swayed to think otherwise.

It's like supporting an opinion with facts. But that still doesn't make an opinion correct.

Then that truely is being biased. What's wrong with a blog anyway? It's just like any other outlet to express your opinion or thoughts.

You use this forum don't you? To make small (or long) jots of personal input? Hm. Why, egads! That sounds like a blog except a lot of other people! Hence why they call it a forum!

Hating something just because it is what it is isn't a good mind set to be in. Hating it because of what's in it is a smarter way to go.

You do realize that if everyone was like that then the world would be a terrible place, right? The people with the worst ideas can usually express them much better. Take for instance, if our country's leaders were to have been like "Hey, lets actually listen to Riddler." instead of just saying "forget you our ideals are much better *boom*" then there's a chance we might have ended up just as bad as national socialist Germany.

Opinions separate smart people from the stupid people. If everyone were to change their opinion just because the other person sounded right, we as a society would completely fall apart. I would keep elaborating but I think I'm going to save some of this muse for a new post.

I agree that the Riddler point can't be considered in whole, since Riddler's intentions were obviously immoral.

But:

And when someone wins, maybe change your opinion.

You have to think about that on a deeper level. What if there were completely sane and "winning" arguments against slavery that were ignored? Arguments against being an independent nation, arguments for socialism and the like that were ignored?
Like I said before, opinions can separate the idiots from the level headed people, if we allowed our opinions to be changed just because another opinion sounded nice then we would be pretty miserable.

Post in a topic about more serious stuff, rather than a post about a blog.

I didn't say because it sounded nice, I said because it sounded logical and the best thing to do. That didn't mean people had to change their ideals for another, no. But if more people used their heads and listened to other people rather than getting into the one-sided "I'm right, you're wrong" mindset, then we would live in a much much better place.

Think about it like this:

"Hey, I hate you because your religion is not my religion, I shall now start a war with you"
"But sir, we are a peaceful nation, and our religion isn't all that different from yours, we may believe in a different god, but isn't it all really about what that god teaches us?"
"Oh. I suppose you're right. I don't agree with your religion per say, but I understand your views for supporting it, I will now leave you at peace."

If the world worked like that and people weren't closed minded, then it would be a much better place.

Also, did you just say socialism was a good thing?
