Whenever I start BL, it never remembers the settings except for addons in controls.

So, do you mean like it resets your controls to default? Or server settings?

No, just the controls, size of screen, what to download, it goes to default for controls, and all the advanced prefs.

Sounds like its having trouble saving to the config file.... Are you on Vista/XP? If so make sure the blockland folder is NOT read-only.

Or make sure you're an administrator.
