Author Topic: BL role models  (Read 8187 times)

My real role model when i was little was Steven Spielburg :3
I wanted, and still kind of do, to be a director :D

I also had an obsession for dinosaurs that leaves me with a massive box full of Jurassic Park toys. :D
Jurassic Park FTW!

I was there. Not involved at the time because I was a humongous jackass that would trample you for the least bit of respect. I snickered behind your back during that and I am truly sorry.

Forgiveness get!

Topic Re-railer Initialized....

Man I musta watched Jurassic Park at least 100 times.  I've been watching that movie since i was 2 :O

I've got two;

Dante - I like his building styles and he's an overall cool guy.

Ladios - He's hilarious, can be serious, kind, and is one of the best fourm veterans here.

Oh actually 3, Jirue's a lovey beast <3

I can see why you would say that, implying that everyone would say him, but I'm sure there must be some people out there who look up to someone besides Badspot...

well yes you are right, Even tho some people can have very respective reasons why they like badspot, but most would say stuff like "Badspot. reason: he made the game/community" and knowing some people would have good reasons I took the chance.
but yes you are right.

Obviously a blockland role model doesn't mean the quality of the person, that would be a REAL role model, anyone who takes a respected blockland member as a role model is a handicap.  A blockland role model is probably someone you see as "I want to make [add ons/decals/builds/maps/eventing/anything else] just as good as him! :D"  if you chose "quality of the person" as your choice in role modeling for BL, then you need to go find some other game, because blockland doesn't have much of that.
A blockland role model is still a role model; you still have an impact on people, far more than add-ons do. Add-ons will come and go, but the affect people have on each other, even over the internet, will stay with them.

The main problem I have is how new members are treated when they join the forums or buy the game. I've seen many new comers turn into complete jerks because of how they are treated, add-ons didn't do that.

:D

We could make an effort, we have before, look at the Be Nice clan thing. Did that work out?  Nope.
"As long as there are 2 people left on the planet, someone is going to want someone dead"
                                                                                     - The Sniper

In my opinion, we need to stop harrassing/hating/etc. new players. Nobody is willing to change, so let's stop trying to change them. Eventually they will leave, and the new players will be the ones who have an affect.

Ghost is right.  we gotta fight for the right to be nice and stuff and...eh...(failed war cry has failed)

Inb4"Guys, Be nice 2"

Oh lord please no.

It'll only bring you pain.

Just stop harassing new people -_-

Also tried this, it's a no go

i only harrass new members if they decide to act like handicapped trolls :D
I help the ones that act like they've been a member of civilization before.

Having a role model implies I have someone to look up to or wish to become like.
It implies that I would have something to gain from my experiance here. Some sort of life lesson. However all of the forgeters on these forums show complete lack of humanity, lack of life experiance. I am in no way saying that you arn't important people in your own lives and the lives of a few others, but I really dont see anyone acting exceptional here. Unless John F Kennedy's brain was transmitted to cyber space and he has formed a conciousness here, I don't think any of you would be able to affect me in any postive way.

That being said I would like to thank Diggy for being the first person to acknowledge I have any sort of potential, KINEX for inspiring me to try making user made content back in v0002, Spaceguy for basically forcing me to finish what I start, and Ephi for getting me to look up how to solve problems by myself. Mind you, in the latter three cases, I was helped by these induviduals being asses and forcing me to do things for myself, but still helped nonetheless. Diggy wasn't an ass but he didn't do anything for me in the long run aside from I suppose give me enough courage to overcome my rather large noob complex I had going.

TL;DR = forget you all, but in a completely nonoffensive way.

On an additional note: the Blockland community is relative. Blockland is a game. The forums are a facet of media. What you get out of the bizzare interactions with ambiguous people you can term what you will.

(This is directed at ghost if none of you caught that)

:(

But I like you, you're cool.

If you like anything about me it would only be the percieved personality that I express on these forums. Or on the internet in general at which I can act much more... fin and can evaluate every word and consequence before I type it out or do anything.
In real life I can garuntee you would just pass me off as some geeky flamboyant sociopath.
