You scratch your discs by moving the xbox while the disc is spinning. I don't imagine heat has anything to do with it.

Ive had mine for over a year and a half. Not a single problem.

Actually you should keep it horizontal, having it vertical blocks some of the holes.

It also adds to the possibility to scratch your disk. My old xbox 360 got one red light 3 times until I got a new xbox.

Microsoft intentionally makes defects to make you buy another one after your warranty.

Also, the 360 has the potential to disable your game disc (Scratch).

I'd go for PS3.
The Wii is better.
Lasts the longest like all Nintendo products.
And only use 1\8 power as the Xbox or PS3.
I personally think the PS3 is the worst.
