I was going to edit, but you posted first. In all seriousness, I've been through the same thing. As nervous as you may be, ask her out. That way you won't wonder and waste your life thinking about it. If she says yes, great, you got a new girlfriend. If not, yes, it'll hurt. Try your best to get over it (Don't come here and whine please) and ask if you can just be friends. After a bit, if she still shows interest in you, ask her out again. Same thing as above, but instead of trying to ask her out a third time, you might want to look for someone else.
