Is there a way to hide a running program? But... keep it running?

Is there a way to hide a program, but keep it running. Like... hide the thing from the task bar at the bottom. And hide it from everything but the windows task manager? I mean hide it from everything. BUT the programs thing in WTM. Kinda like how Firefox does at times....

So he can keep his downloaded research running when someone enters the room. So many times has he had to close the program, and re-open it again to watch. Just for it to repeat.

So I can have music playing without switching to the music player when I have more then one window opened.

Or you want to run a keylogger program without anyone knowing. In any case, I'm not letting you know. I also don't know how, so anyways
