And the kids I had were from relationships with single mothers. All of them loved and respected me and called me dad despite their mothers not wishing them to do so. I admit, I am not their dad, but I sure as hell acted and accepted them as if they were my own. Unfortunately, when the relationships went bad and ended, I couldn't be there to officially parent them, though on occasions, I do babysit. In any case, I have been a parent, I have a good deal of experience, and as far as the kids are developing now, they seem to remember lessons I teach them and apply them in a positive and constructive way. So in short, yes I was a parent, and a darned good one. My last relationship ended because the ex thought I was more into being a dad for the kids than to be with her. So she felt neglected. So I'm a good parent, apparently lousy boyfriend. lol |
