Well it's called the tourist trade, my friend. You never know what language you'll need in Europe as a large variety is spoken there. Much like here in Duluth. You wouldn't think there is a lot of need for people to speak German, but we get a large amount of tourists from that area and people are needed each year to translate for them. You make good friends that way. I know when I got to Germany next summer, I'll have plenty of help should I encounter a problem.

Yeah. well I was thinking of working in a place where social activity isn't very high.
Anyways, I've finally convinced my parents to drop me out of Sunday school. But now I have to cope with one of them home schooling me for 2-3 hours on saturdays. As for the money, they're getting a refund.

--- Quote from: Inv3rted on September 13, 2009, 03:40:23 PM ---Right, I have no idea what a parent is considering I live with two of them.

And no, my logic does not say that any adopted child has no parents. It says that any guardian of a child who does raise them to adulthood is not a full parent.

Also, just because people yell at children because they make mistakes that the parents have done does not make them good parents.

Your whole approach is "I'm just going to sit here on this forum attacking people who are half my age and more naive for doing exactly what I did at their age."

--- End quote ---
So then that means I do know how to be a parent because I have two of them as well. Your whole argument has now failed by your own logic.

A parent is a relative term. If a child considers you a parent, then you must be one.

It depends on what the kid did really. 99% of the time it's justified.

You only assume I attack people. It's been your personal crusade to do nothing but bash me since I made a reply. Seems like you do the same thing. Nice Job Hippocyte.

Secondly, it's not as if I can help my age or the time of my birth. Bitching about using my age as an advantage in this fight is not that much ground to argue about. You might as well say I'm wrong because I'm white or that I'm an jerk because my hair is brown. Just useless to point out constantly.

I don't plan on going anywhere.
Plenty of people don't.
Yet for some reason they're forced to learn EVERYTHING regardless how irrelevant it is to their plans for the future.
Now in the early grades, because a child usually won't know what they'll do in the future ("I wanna be an astronaut" doesn't count), so it's reasonable to teach them some of every subject, but by the 6-7th grade, a child should have plans, and thus be able to choose what they would like overall, yet this only occurs in college.

tl;dr Educational system blows.
