would you want your key back if you lost it?
then if you lost it again would you buy it again?

First off, I wouldn't do anything that would get my key deactivated.
If I somehow managed to do that, and Badspot would not grant me another, yes, I would buy a new one. It's $20. Big deal. You're not going to lose it again if you don't do anything to get it deactivated again.
