I think my RAM is fried :(
General Nick:
Today, I logged on Windows 7 x64.
I left it after I entered my password and started on homework. Then I wanted to check something on my desktop. Mouse froze. Keyboard did nothing. Reboot.
The memory counting thing during/after POST on bootup just stops at "Memory T" where its supposed to say "Memory Total:". And reboots. Gets stuck in this cycle until I clear CMOS via jumper pins.
I'm running MemTest right now, so far no errors or anything but I think its definitely my RAM though.
I have 2 1GB sticks running at 667MHz and one 2GB stick running at 800 MHz.
Oh, and there's over 9000 topics in OT.

You should have similar RAM sticks instead of what you have, though that might not be your problem. You could try taking out the RAM stick-by-stick and seeing if you have a bad one.
Captain Crazy:
Aw, that sucks, Nick. I hope you can fix it somehow.

Nitramtj:
My windows 7 also randomly freezes :( I need to do a memtest. Although, I've seen plenty of topics from people whose laptops are freezing randomly even though the memtest shows nothing. The weird part about the freezes is it acts like a virus, slowly spreading across my open programs. It starts with the active window, then whatever I click on (such as explorer) and eventually the mouse freezes. Then after 30 seconds or so it goes back to normal. This started happening in the rc and is a little better in the rtm (provided by IEEE).

Windows 7 is the next in the line of Windows operating systems after Vista.
It's visual look is quite similar to Vista but it has an entirely new toolbar and some more little tweaks to make the most of your memory.
