I already have a dove and it needs a friend, but I don't think Rover'll want to stay. Birds tend to avoid places where they have had traumatic experiences. All of his injuries happened inside of my house.

It could have been trying to evade from whatever it was attacked by, and accidentaly fly into your house =\
