| Numbers on a wheel? |
| << < (2/7) > >> |
| Wedge:
The number line we draw on paper is neither an actual number line in it's entirety, nor even a line. It is a simple graphical representation of a small portion of the number line. The line is easy to understand and convenient. If you really need to have a number line that goes from 1 to 50 billion, that's what we invented jog or break lines for. Yes, there is no space for a complete number line to exist. Fortunately, there is also no use for a complete number line. Also, your circle system makes it impossible to draw graphs. This is the primary function of number lines. |
