--- Quote from: Rughugger on October 05, 2009, 06:45:32 PM ---The government have been slowly reducing our rights pretty much since radio and television came out. Primarily the first amendment. And whether or not you choose to believe it, I could care less either way, but the government controls content released by news media. FCC is a government run program. Our right to bear arms is constantly under question. Unlawful search and seizures can easily be bypassed with loopholes and red tape. (entrapment) The right to a fair trial has all but been abolished no thanks to stupid cases where a woman can sue a restaurant for being clumsy and spilling her hot drink on her own lap when common sense dictates that the cup came with a lid and steam was clearly visible indicating a hot beverage. I could go on and on and on. But our basic amendment rights are all pretty much out the door these days and no one seems to be seeing it happening right in front of us.

All of these encroachments on privacy happened during Bush's term, considering that Republicans are essentially a tool for corporate interests who want as little rights for the 99% of the masses who have 99% of the votes.

I am completely with rughugger
yes, the constitution was meant to set up a government be representative by the people, but the only direct connection between the 2 is the the lower house of congress.communist
it doesn't really matter which party has been in power, and i would assume it would be extremely difficult to make a tax that would only target the rich, seeing as most* richer people worked hard for their money, and would argue that the people who didn't give a stuff about their future till now deserve to be equally taxed

BULL loving HORSE stuff. CEOs and corporate executives did not work at all for their money. All they did was abuse the system and have tools such as Reagan remove all restrictions on the market. They broke the economy. Before Reagan, the rich were taxed a lot more heavily than the poor. They still earned enough for a comfortable living, and their money went to building infrastructure. Our national infrastructure is in desperate need of repairs because of neglect and lack of funding since Reaganomics. Obama is mimicking FDR's approach to the depression, which WORKED. He is creating jobs to fix the infrastructure.

--- Quote from: Rekuddo on October 05, 2009, 05:23:41 PM ---Reason why it's still a Bill, and supposedly for Cyber security reasons.

The only one here proving himself to be an idiot is you, You refuse to receive any information that goes against your principals, you are one of the most hardcore close-minded persons I've ever met, you bash people because they're Christian, or even if they have religion at all. You automatically assume something completely irrelevant when me or anyone else says anything. Just trying to have a decent conversation with you ends up with you going, "Jesus you're handicapped/idiot/stupid."

It is impossible to turn off the internet, simple as that. It can't be done physically, and even if it was, the people wouldn't stand for it. Our second amendment won't go away, and legislating against it is hopeless.

At any rate, this is not Obama's bill. There are plenty of dumbass Democrats who should leave the party imo.

You're the same person who stated that health care reform was a terrible idea and that WWII started in 1944.

It's simple if you do it earlier.

you must be handicapped to think that all loss of rights for people happened during bush's term

i say that the CEOs of banks did not directly cause it, plenty of people bought houses hoping in a few years they could sell it and make profit, however values decreased, they couldn't pay off mortgage and the houses were taken back. THEY TOOK THE CHANCE. and actually, the fix creating more jobs i never said was bad.

you are under the false hope that privately owned guns will be protected, i'm pretty sure there have already been tries to catalog gun owners and a whole lot of other stuff

You must handicapped to think they didn't. It only happened after 9/11, all of the other forms of censorship come from conservative Christian lobbies seeking to force their morality on others.

They didn't take the chance. They were manipulated. Forced into debt by poor wages and overpriced insurance, they must borrow against their home. When conditions don't improve, their homes are taken. That is evil, and not the owners' fault. Learn more about the housing crCIA before you make such ridiculous assertions.

You people think that the Government is already too large. I say it's not large at all, and should be larger. These rights WILL NOT BE INFRINGED UPON. You can't break the constitution so boldly without inciting a revolution.
