There are plenty of psychos in the world. They don't care about consequences, and so you shouldn't give them the ability to take so many lives.

Republicans fear the government, they fear each other, they fear God, they fear change, they fear anyone who is different.
Not that new. Switzerland has low crime not because of its lack of gun control, but because its people are a lot more wealth. Rich people make too much money in the US, and they don't deserve any of it.

being given personal protection along with everyone else? if you're a store clerk and someone pulls a gun on you, i would think having the next person in line pulling a gun on him, rather than everyone screaming and running away

Good point, but weren't we talking about automatic weapons? Besides, the criminal can kill anyone with anything.
