--- Quote from: Wedge on October 25, 2009, 06:26:03 PM ---Homeless people are typically homeless because they're either mentally or physically incapable of getting a job or keeping a home. It's hypothetically possible that there's some people who might be homeless because they actually don't want to work, but I seriously doubt the number is large enough to even bother noting. Like 1 out of every 2000 homeless people or something. --- End quote --- Pretty much this. It's a good reason why the current educational system needs a makeover to keep this stuff from happening. I'd like to see them bring the trades classes back to schools, I mean honestly there are thousands of companies crying for trades workers and they simply can't get any capable men or women, even with training provided. Back whenever, you could take the Trade classes if you weren't all that into studying and come out of high-school practically ready for a decent job. And let's face it, I knew plenty of good people who simply didn't like studying, but they were damn good at any sort of manual task. |

um, I totally didn't just watch a Michael Moore marathon... At any rate, you people are making the assertion that homeless people all don't have jobs. Much of the time they run out of money and are forced out of their house but still work to make at least a bit of an income. Much of their expenses come from abusive banks and a broken health care system, both of which could easily be changed with some socialization and regulation. |

--- Quote from: Rughugger on October 25, 2009, 06:22:06 PM ---Or we could implement systems and checks and balances that would prevent people from becoming homeless in the first place. If we did that, then the homeless population would slowly ebb off to nothing in a matter of time. The problem with this is, is that people are too stuck on greed and the need for material wealth to do anything about it. --- End quote --- I still like my idea better. --- Quote from: Inv3rted on October 25, 2009, 08:57:36 PM ---At any rate, you people are making the assertion that homeless people all don't have jobs.
