It's mainly to be solved as an Expression, not an Equation.

I really think he's a smart kid and if he waited to join the forums he'd be fine.

But 9-10 isn't the age you should be here, no matter how smart you are. I have a lot of respect for him, but he does need to just wait a few before he comes here.

That SHOULD be the answer, but distributive property is pretty confusing.

I think it would actually be 8N+39, because you can't have 2 negatives.

I'm not really sure though :/

No, adding a negative subtracts. The two negatives only applies to dividing and multiplying.
