I always love watching people impart their "wisdom" to new people. They're always such absurdly obscure rules and social taboos about cookie monsters, pandas and canned meat.

The best idea is just to point them to the forum rules and let them get on with it instead of scaring them into thinking they've just registered on one of the most horrendously judgemental and critical forums known in existence (they'll figure that out for themselves later on).
