Just imagine the Human race expanding far beyond our Solar system to colonize new worlds. There's even a possibility of us living on one of Jupiter's moons.
But to venture to a point of long distance space travel, we would need some device capable of transporting human ships to the speed of light to bring us to other systems.

There's been a theory that without the moon, the Earth would wobble on its axis, creating major differences in Global climate. Deserts would be rain forests, grasslands would become vast deserts of endless heat and death.
