It's the girls job to refuse the love, men are supposed to take it whenever they can get it.
Also he was probably pretty bad if he scared her off.

Okay, er...
I don't know, it just seems weird to me. I think 18 should be the legal age, just because it seems you are able to make the decision best from then on out.
Maybe I'm wrong.
